The Pilatus PC-6 Turbo-Porter has become a legendary aircraft, known around the world simply as “The Porter”.
Its unique Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) capabilities, reliability and versatility in all weather and terrain conditions have established it as a rugged utility aircraft. A simple, solid construction, proven systems and features, combined with precision Swiss workmanship result in the highest reliability and lowest maintenance possible.
Perhaps the greatest and most versatile utility aircraft ever produced, the PC-6 Turbo-Porter has the ideal proportions and attributes for a model. With a slab-sided fuselage, and a simple, constant chord wing, the Porter is an almost perfect model.
This model was designed as part of a series of design articles to be published in a well-known English model magazine. It is totally scale in outline, as well as using the scale aerofoils, though the structure is simplified in some areas. If the builder prefers, the model can be fully scaled, with opening doors and a scale undercarriage, though the plans show a simplified version.
