The Convection is our own design, planned as two versions, one as a pure sailplane and the other as a large hotliner. Both have a wingspan of 2.9M and incorporate spoilers and inboard flaperons to increase descent angles for landing. They may also be reflexed to obtain higher transit speeds between thermals.
Built from ply and balsa, the Convection is a simple and conventional build, and it will go together in a few nights of casual building. Choose to power it if you wish and you can be independent of winches and bungees with little or no penalty in drag. This model makes a great club competition model or Sunday flier.
