Unusual Projects

We don’t just draw aeroplanes! We’ve recently been asked to draw scale details such as radial engines, undercarriages and agricultural spray pumps. For this, I’ve conscripted my son as he’s an engineering student, and has some pretty mean drafting skills as you can see. Here are just a few samples of his work.

This is the pump we were asked to reproduce in 25% size.

We were asked to reproduce a spray pump in simplified form, but with drawings accurate enough to be used to reproduce the part in 1/4 scale. Obviously, there is a lot of detail at this scale, but there is also a limit to the amount of work that can go into this effort.

This is a render of Matthew’s design. As you can see, it is simplified but still looks very realistic.
An exploded view of Matthew’s drawings.
Here’s a tailwheel assembly for the PZL Dromader
…and a render of the maingear (shown without brakes).

More to come on this project.
